DENCITY (2023-24)
This series captures the essence of Dencity- a vibrant and inclusive female skate collective that has evolved from a small group in Lagos into a nationwide movement across Nigeria. I joined this collective in December 2023, and it has since played a profound role in my social life. Through these photographs, I document the intimate moments we share, both on and off our skateboards—the joy, camaraderie, and unbreakable bond that unite us. This series serves as a visual archive, celebrating the strength and courage of women carving out their own space in a male-dominated arena. It is a testament to the power of community, resilience, and the shared passion that fuels this movement. Each photograph reflects the dynamic energy of the Dencity collective and the broader narrative of female empowerment and solidarity within the skateboarding world.
