THIS IS OUR HOME COURT (2023)
A series of photographs documenting a night in town, loose on the dance floor and high on pure joy. In our current socio-economic state that burdens the everyday Lagosian, high tension and dwindling hope, we create spaces where none of that exists. Sacred souls, with whom we can chorus laughter and dance the night away—an escape.
This Is Our Home Court and we make the rules. Dance with us, problems no dey here, music heals after all. Inspired by Malick Sidibe’s documentation of Bamako’s night-life, these images capture the euphoria and bliss that one feels when in community.
