Postcards from Tarkwa Bay
While my background is mainly in studio photography, I have been exploring the idea of documentary practice and the authenticity of environmental portraiture. In search of a respite from the unrelenting hustle-induced stress that clings to the urban landscape, I found solace and inspiration at Tarkwa Bay, a remarkable man-made beach nestled along the picturesque shores of Lagos. Photographed using digital and analog processes, this is a documentation of souls I encountered and a celebration of life, nature, and human connection.
Through these images, taken across various trips, I aim to convey the innate beauty found in the simplicity of existence as well as the serenity and vitality I feel each time I visit Tarkwa Bay.
